American Workforce Group has partnered with a metal fabrication for a Manufacturing Engineer opening.

Description
- Drive continuous improvement opportunities and yield metrics utilizing wide variety of analytical techniques, lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts o Work closely and cooperatively with Suppliers, Production, Engineering, and Maintenance.
- Create, update and enhance specifications and operating procedures for existing and new processes
- Participate in NPD team with ideas and prototype design.
- Support manufacturing of released processes and products including generating BOMs and routers, documenting work instructions and support training of personnel.
- Design, create, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes using lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban systems and visual controls to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications
B.S. degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering
3+ years of engineering experience
Clear written and verbal communications
Experience in firearms industry strongly preferred
Sound knowledge of manufacturing systems, process control methodologies, Lean manufacturing techniques, error-proofing, effective meeting and project management are significant advantages and are preferred
Experience driving process improvements into operations
In-depth understanding and working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) ANCI/or
Design of Experiments (DOE)
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
Experience with SolidWorks or similar
Solid understanding and application of GD&T
Ability to maintain internal contacts with other employees of the organization relating to production issues, which may involve discussion of processing methods, trouble shooting and training
Ability to interact with customers, suppliers, contractors, ancl governmental representatives.
Ability to frequently visit external customers and suppliers to maintain a good working relationship
Ability to work both independently as well as provide effective technical support to project teams
