Job Description
American Workforce Group has partnered with a production company in the Woodland area who, through science, create and manufacture the leading brand of innovative, earth safe horticultural products that contribute to our customer’s success. They are looking for a fill in safety coordinator for the next few months!

Description of Safety Coordinator:

Participates in the development and implementation of safety programs such as lockout/tagout, safety SOP’s, confined space entry and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
-
Conducts routine and follow-up environmental health, safety, and hazard inspections.
-
Responds to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, fire and smoke incidents, or unknown hazards; prepares reports of findings and submits recommendations.
-
Participates in the analysis of accident and incident reports for trends; makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
-
Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
-
Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements.
-
Participates in Environmental sampling as needed or directed.
-
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications of Safety Coordinator:
-
Knowledge of State/Federal OSHA, WA Department of Ecology, Stormwater Management, and policy management.
-
Competent with Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power point
-
Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication skills in English
-
Ability to adapt and quickly build rapport with team members and leadership.
-
2(+) years safety experience
-
Must be proficient with a Smartphone.
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Physical Requirements of Safety Coordinator:
-
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

Moving about accomplishing tasks.

Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

Communicating with others to exchange information.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
